Wide Plank flooring is our specialty. These aged woods originally came from the old growth forests from our early American history. They can still be found in floors in old homes and historic structures in many parts of the country today. They display a character unmatched by any artificial means. Wide Plank flooring can also come from newly sawn old growth lumber. The use of wider widths and longer lengths will reduce the number of end to end seams in the floor, thus creating a more historical authentic look.
At Antique & Vintage Woods we offer an extensive line of precision milled Wide Plank flooring in a variety of styles and species from elegant to rustic. Wide Plank flooring is made from planks that are from 3” to 24” wide with an average width of 6” to 8”. The length of the plank will be from 4 ft to 20 feet long. Our thickness varies. They can be finished at 4/4, 5/4 or 8/4, but the most common thickness found is ¾ of an inch. This flooring can be milled, tongue and grooved, or left as planks with rough edges for an antique look. All of our floors are custom made to order and milled to your specification. You will find that all of our wood specialists take the time to really understand your project and work with you until you are entirely satisfied.
