Surface Finishes

Oiled Surface

Oiled Surface Most finished floors or beams are enhanced with a tung oil finish which will make them easy to keep clean and extend the wear.

Painted

Painted Painting covers up most of the beauty of old wood, but sometimes is desirable. We have frequently used Antique Fir for siding on a house and then painted it. For the "green concerned" person interested in reclaimed products, this is certainly an option.

Pickled or Antiqued

Pickled or Antiqued Sometimes antique wood can come to life with a little color added. This may help a decorator to coordinate room colors. A light color wash of a single color may work or sometimes several colors are blended together. But usually some original wood color is allowed to come through and the graining will still show.
